We are situated in Vaudreuil Quebec, a small town less than an hour west of downtown Montreal. In the past year, we have completed the design of a large graphics and animation chip using an in-house developed Sil- icon Compiler. For more information on the chip, refer to the Proceedings of the IEEE 1987 Custom Integrated Circuits Conference. The Silicon Compiler is a LISP-based integrated set of design tools. It permits rapid development of complex chips using a systematic hierarchical approach. We are currently expanding our operations both in the VLSI design group and in the Silicon Compiler group. You will find attached, the description of currently vacant posi- tions. If you are seeking excellent opportunities to use your knowledge and skills to maximum advantage with a grow- ing company, and a congenial work and lifestyle, take a look at Silicart. For immediate consideration, forward your resume to: Silicart Inc. 1000 Roche Blvd. Vaudreuil, Quebec J7V 6B3 VLSI DESIGN GROUP Our present opening is for VLSI Designers who will be responsible for the design, simulation, optimization, lay- out, and test of integrated circuits. As a first project, the successful candidates will be part of a team implement- ing a multiple chip set using a state-of-the-art digital CMOS process. Each member of the team will be responsible for taking one chip from conception to realization. This position requires a M.A.Sc. in VLSI design, or equivalent experience. Applicants should have completed the entire design and test cycle for a custom or semi-custom digital MOS IC. Knowledge of other types of circuit design, VLSI CAD tools, and the LISP language would be highly desir- able. SILICON COMPILER GROUP The Silicon Compiler group is looking for SOFTWARE ENGINEERS with a strong background in digital logic and systems design. The candidates should have knowledge of problems specific to the computer assisted design of integrated cir- cuits. Domains of particular interest for Silicart are automatic layout, timing analysis, automatic test pattern generation and module generation. Software Engineers are responsible for the specifications, design, implementation, test and documentation of major com- ponents of the Silicon Compiler. Experience with large software projects and knowledge of the software design pro- cess are required. In particular, intimate knowledge of structured programming techniques and documentation tech- niques are necessary. Knowledge of Common LISP, object oriented programming and AI techniques, although not neces- sary, are preferred.
