CELERITY is seeking an experienced software/hardware customer support
engineer in the New York metropolitan area, in our office in Saddle
Brook, New Jersey.

CELERITY is a full-service vendor of technical computing systems. The
recent introduction of the CELERITY 6000 departmental supercomputer
brings balanced scalar/vector/parallel processing to the workplace.
The CELERITY 6000 joins our successful C1200 series, offering a
platform of compliance to standards, open architecture, compatibility,
connectivity and quality.

Major markets for CELERITY systems include computer-aided engineering
(CAE), database systems, image processing and animation, and
computational time-sharing. With the expansion of opportunities in
these markets, CELERITY offers exciting opportunities for career
development.

Responsibilities for CELERITY customer support engineers include
hardware and software service (diagnosis, problem isolation and repair,
software problem-solving and escalation, new user training, and general
consultation).

The following qualities are essential:

- Familiarity with UNIX and C: CELERITY systems run an implementation
based on 4.3BSD, plus offer compliance with the Base Level of the
System V Interface Definition (SVID), as well as Sun Open Network
  Computing (NFS, RPC, YP) capabilities

- Ability to work in a customer-oriented environment. Excellent
interpersonal skills, a service-based work philosophy, and
willingness to "get the job done" are essential.

Additionally, the following skills would be significant pluses:

- Background in mechanical CAE

- Knowledge of FORTRAN, Pascal, and/or LISP

- Familiarity with database, image processing, animation, or other
compute-intensive markets and their systems needs

- Experience with hardware diagnostics and installation, including
  central systems and peripherals

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and three or more years
of work history in an appropriate field, or equivalent experience.
Work experience in a vendor's product support environment is a plus.

Some travel is required. Also, please note that this is *not* a
hardware or software development position.

CELERITY offers competitive compensation and benefits, plus the
opportunity to participate in the growth of the company.
