[I'm posting this for a friend of mine, Tom Tengdin, who works on board the Altantis II research ship operated by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. This ship is the seagoing base for the deep submersible "Alvin". Please use the contacts below in following this up, 'cause I don't know anything else about this, and my experience with boats is limited to rafts and kayaks. :-) ---Rsk ] The Alvin Group is looking for new people to work in the Data Section of the operations (sea going) group. Must be able/willing to go to sea at least 6 months per year on cruises that vary from 1 to 6 weeks in length. Ideally people should have UNIX, electronics repair, and oceanographic experience but combinations of the above will be considered.
