We are currently designing a database-publishing system based on
SGML, TeX and Postscript. The material to be published consists of
data sheets of electronic components (texts, formulas, tables, drawings),
technical publications and catalogues. The number of pages to be
produced by this system is about 70,000/year.
For this system SGML tags have to be defined, together with
a set of TeX macros in which the SGML tags have to be translated.
The complexity of this TeX macro package is comparable with LaTeX.
For this we need someone experienced in designing TeX macros.
The job to design and implement the macro package is estimated
to take half a year. After that occasional maintenance will
be needed for an extended period of time.
Our commissioner is the Marketing Communications Department of Philips
Components Division, the Electronic Components and Materials Division
(Elcoma) of Philips.
