We have openings at Mips Computer Systems for Software Product Specialists
in the Corporate Technical Support Group (CTSG).  The CTSG provides second
level technical support to world-wide Mips field organizations.  We assist
field engineering in solving customer hardware and software problems, the 
Customer Response Center in problem determination, and systems engineers in
their role of providing technical information to customers and prospects. 
In addition, we are responsible for providing technical training to FE's and
SE's. 

Product Specialists are responsible for dealing with such HQ organizations
as engineering, quality assurance, and manufacturing in support of field
requirements; for maintaining an expert-level body of knowledge about their
assigned products; and for designing and implementing support plans for 
their products. These jobs report to the Director of Corporate Technical
Support.

Our Software Product Specialist openings require a combination of in-depth
technical understanding of the unix systems, systems level C-language 
programming experience, and customer-support or sales-support experience. 

Ideal candidates would include:

   -  A Systems Engineer at a Unix-oriented company with a desire to move 
      into a technical-specialist role

   -  A Unix/C developer with an aptitude for problem solving and
      an interest in becoming a "designated support wizard" for a 
      set of software products.
