From: Mark Weiser <mark.umcp-cs@UDel-Relay> The ~$300 Swiss Mouse is just the mouse electronics with no interfacing. It generates pulses as it rolls along. They have no immediate plans send a brochure describing a planned RS-232c interface, but upon inquiry quote no time frame and don't even promise it "eventually". I think Swiss mice are out.

From: Chris Kent <cak at Purdue> The Hawley mouse is exactly the same -- it just generates pulses as it rolls along, for ~$150 more. I want to do my own interface; using a separate RS-232 line for a mouse is a lose, as far as I'm concerned. Does anyone know when Xerox is going to start marketing their optical mice, either as chips for homebrewers, or as a package? Should be much cheaper. chris
