The Center for Artificial Intelligence at George Mason University
has recently received a major grant to conduct basic research in the
area of cognitive modelling of reasoning and learning.  We still have a
few openings for PH.D.-level graduate research assistants and a research
programmer, starting in September 1990 or January 1991.

An ideal candidate for an RA should have a strong interest and
commitment for studying learning and reasoning processes, building
computer models of them, and testing the models on some real-world
problems.  He/she should have a background in AI and possibly also in
Cognitive Science, and excellent programming skills.

Our Center in an international research laboratory, with some top
researchers in the field.  It offers excellent technical facilities, very
competitive salaries, and a superb quality of life.  Its location, just
outside the Washington DC's Beltway in Fairfax, Virginia, and near
hundreds of high-tech companies, facilitates collaboration on some most
challenging and exciting research problems.
