Our networked computing environment consists of a large number of VAXes, Macintoshes, PC's and workstations. Act as the end-user support group's principal Unix expert with a focus on science users. Evaluate, recommend, and support Macintosh applications that are relevant to science users, especially data analysis, charting, spreadsheet packages as well as statistical and mathematical packages. Write documentation and conduct classes for end users. Provide computer consulting service at a computer help desk. Support Local Area Network Administrators. REQUIREMENTS: BA/BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Computer Science. Solid understanding of the Macintosh and Unix environments. Strong writing, interpersonal and communications skills are essential. Background in math/statistics and/or end-user support are desirable. Desire to work in a fast-paced, scientific environment.
