[misc.jobs.offered] SQL database interfacing expert wanted in Silicon Valley

gerardt@backnine.Corp.Sun.COM (Gerard Tynen) (04/10/91)

We are a Bay Area consulting firm looking for someone with
background in the following:

SQL Databases (esp. Sybase, Oracle, Ingres...)
	DOS or OS/2 or Unix
	C or C++
At least 3 years experience with the above (VERY IMPORTANT)

Our project is in Silicon Valley, and involves the creation of
software that will provide a common interface to a heterogeneous
collection of relational database backends. Our client is a
major supplier of relational databases seeking connectivity between
their application product line and a number of other vendors'
client/server SQL databases.

Experience with a variety of SQL dialects is a plus. Knowledge
of how databases behave internally is important. Distributed database
experience is a plus. Ideally, you will have a working knowledge of
various SQL databases, how they work, and how they differ,
internally and externally.

This is at least a one year project, but either contract or
full time employment is possible.

----------------------------------------

We also have a couple of other openings doing software testing for
the same client. You will need to have a year or more of C and
SQL programming experience. Again, this may be permanent or contract
work.
