We are a client-retained executive search firm seeking an experienced
Senior Programmer/Analyst for our client's South San Francisco location.
The Senior Programmer/Analyst will report to the MIS Manager. The Senior
Programmer/Analyst will work in the AS/400 group and be responsible for
assisting in completing the conversion from the S/38 to the newly
acquired AS/400. S/he will also be in charge of developing programs and
systems for the AS/400, based upon user requirements and approved
departmental requests.
Specifically the Senior Programmer/Analyst will: work with department
heads and user groups to define, analyze and spec out new systems; write
programs; interface with users, debug and refine and/or maintain
programs; document programs and procedures; and run month-end closing
procedures and distribute reports. This position requires minimal
supervision and normally requires no instruction on routine work and
general instruction on new assignments. There will be occasional
on-demand need to support computer operations and/or software systems.
An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Business Data Processing
or the equivalent is required for this position. Three to five years of
experience with RPG III or RPG/400 on an IBM S/38 or AS/400 in a
manufacturing or distribution environment is mandatory. IMENEX software
experience would be ideal. Good interpersonal skills are important.
