I have noticed in my use of MS windows that I often (especially when exiting a program) hit an extra newline and that such input often results in things happening that I did not intend. This seems a general difference between text oriented systems (i.e. sh, csh, etc. in which ususally an extra newlilne or two rarely hurts) and window systems that allow keyboard selection. Since some item is selected much of the time, hitting the newline key acts on that selection starting up that thing or doing something with that thing etc. I am not proposing that this is good or bad, just commenting that it is a user interface difference that I had not expected and have not yet trained my fingers properly for its use. it will take some practise. apple!jrg John R.
