First, I apologize for not posting this to comp.windows.ms: Portal doesn't know about the new group, yet, and will not let me post to an arbitrary group. Using OS/2 PMSDK 1.05, the control panel allows one to set something called the "application background" color, as distinct from other kinds of background colors. So far, I have only seen PMFILE (File Manager) use this, and then only because (I think) it has an "application" window with several sub-windows that contain the actual stuff. The application window itself contains only other windows (perforce?). My question is: How do I create a window that has this background color? I haven't seen anything about it in the system documents, nor in Petzold's "Preview Edition" book (meaning it's only half done: no GPI stuff yet). This is not a big deal, but I would like to find out. I assumed that, since PM seems to be the "spiritual successor" to MS-Windows, you people might have seen this before, and could tell me the answer, quickly and painlessly. -Jim Hickstein jxh@cup.portal.com ...!sun!portal!cup.portal.com
