(This is a posting which I also directed to news.groups. For some reason I managed not to get it in these groups the first time.) Is there a group out there which deals with user interfaces: design, research, general ideas, etc.? I couldn't find one; most of the discussion seems to go through comp.windows.misc, comp.sys.mac, comp.sys.next, and similar groups. What do people think of the idea of creating a group called, say, something like "comp.user-interfaces" (well, that's kind of long, but you get the idea)? Is there enough traffic to warrant it? There seems to have been quite a bit in the past, at least judging from what I've seen.... Thoughts? Criticisms? Suggestions? (This is *NOT* a call for votes, we're nowhere near that stage yet!) Not time to vote yet? When it is I will vote yes! Kevin

As was kindly pointed out to me, there already exists a newsgroup for user interface discussion. It is comp.cog-eng (not the most obvious name in the world, in my opinion, but I'm sure there was a reason). The exiting newsgroup comp.cog-eng is dedicated to issues like these, among others. Cog-eng stands for cognitive engineering. hh
