I like to read the biweekly news statistics (so I can catch myself if I climb too high in the top 25!), but I'm not really interested in either reading or "n"-ing through discussions of news software. Hence, I propose that the statistics be split off into a group of their own (net.news.stats or something similar), so that the news-software hackers can have their group (the existing net.news) and we ordinary types can find out how much we're writing. -- -- Jeff Sargent {allegra|ihnp4|decvax|harpo|seismo|ucbvax}!pur-ee!pucc-h:aeq One man's data are another man's garbage.

No, no, no!! A separate newsgroup for five or so articles that come out every two weeks?! In a moderately-low-volume newsgroup, anyway? No, no, no!! -- Rsk the Wombat UUCP: { allegra, decvax, ihnp4, harpo, teklabs, ucbvax } !pur-ee!rsk { cornell, eagle, hplabs, ittvax, lanl-a, ncrday } !purdue!rsk

<In Nomine Patris..> I whole-heartedly support the creation of net.news.stats. Even though the traffic volume would be low, there is a definite use for such a newsgroup. It would certainly make my life easier. Brian A. Ehrmantraut Ad Maioram Gloriam Hasturi! {ihnp4, decvax, ucbvax}!allegra!fisher!bae

We have been over this before, and the overwhelming concensus is that it would be a waste to create a new group for a few articles a month.
