I have come upon the need to work with several dozen graphics and image file formats. For this reason I must be able to describe the interal format of ANY graphics or image file in the simplest possible terms. What I really need is a standard set of terms, a language really, that will enable me to describe any file format (whether real or not) in words that may be used by others to reconstruct that format. Does anyone know of such a language or description set? Does ANSI/ISO use anything like this? -- "I'm an anthropologist, not a computer systems architect, damit!" jdm@hodge.cts.com [uunet zardoz crash]!hodge!jdm James D.
