CALL FOR PAPERS Human Factors in Computing Systems Dec 12-15, 1983 Boston, Massachusetts Sponsored Jointly By ACM SIGCHI and The Human Factors Society This conference will focus on the presentation of empirical findings and theory related to usability in interactive systems. Papers which address human factors issues in software, hardware, and documentation are welcomed. Papers which relate to the following topics are particularly encouraged. Methodology: Interface and Language Design: ----------- ----------------------------- Interface Design Methodology Human Factors Issues in Object- Interface Evaluation Methodology Based Programming User Cognitive Models Graphics-Based Interaction Programmer Performance Measurement Voice Interaction Novel Interface Interaction Novel Language Design System Performance Evaluation: Application of Intelligent ----------------------------- Systems to Enhance Usability Usability of Programming Language Critical, Formal Evaluations of Working Systems Organizational Impact of Interactive Systems Interested authors should submit four copies of the paper by May 1, 1983. Papers should be approximately 2500 words in length and should contain an abstract of 100-150 words. All submitted papers will be reviewed and will be judged with respect to their quality and relevance. Proposals for session and tutorials are also invited.
