Hi, When I look around at the windowing/UI wars of the last few years, I begin to get a small sense of frustration. Granted that Open Look may be better/worse than OSF/Motif or whatever, it appears that the concept of truly interacting with a user is lagging behind the technology. For example, is NeXTstep indeed more "useable" than MACintosh and why. Does Metaphor really ease the windowing use of Unix systems. Where do you see Windowing systems going? What features do we need in User Interfaces. Are they available today, if so who has them? What do we REALLY need to do? And yes, the VMS system calls LIB$READ_MIND and LIB$DO_WHAT_I_MEAN are exactly what I had in mind ;-) (please forgive the VMS :-)) Replies by mail accepted and summary will be posted.
