Hello, I just found out that the MGR program is available for the Macintosh (interested people - it's on bellcore.com for anonymous ftp, there are a few other machines supported there two, including DecStation and Sparc). I understand that this program is similar to X in operation. It does seem to have the distinct advantage that a serial line (like a MODEM!) is one of the supported byte streams - everyone has been telling me I either need to have ethernet or TCP/IP to use X. So, mgr is nice! Except I can't find any software. The manual says that this mgr program used to run on Suns (still does I guess) - seems there would be some but I can't find mentions of it in the ftp lists, etc. Can anyone point me to some MGR-based software? The client machine would be an ultrix vax or possibly later a unix-pc. What I really would like is something like idraw or xfig except working with MGR. Alternate helpful things would be some sort of facility to help port or adapt X programs to MGR, or some way running X over a modem (e.g. server on Mac connected to client on ultrix box.) Thanks for any help. jeff
