I would like to find out what types of conferences exist as they relate to X. In particulare, what kind of classes/activities do they offer, when and where are they held, how can I get more information, etc. Can anyone help?

The former is held in Boston by the X Consortium and primarily focuses on current technical problem areas, future plans for X, and related research projects. The latter is held in San Jose by Integrated Computer Solutions Inc. (phone 617-621-0787). It is more product and user oriented and includes a vendor exhibition. Both offer pre-conference tutorials, most of which are the same subjects with the same lecturers. Also, USENIX often has sessions and tutorials related to X and many university extension programs offer classes on X programming. -- Ken Lee DEC Western Software Laboratory, Palo Alto, Calif.
