The following is being posted on behalf of troutman@dsn.sinet.slb.com; please send direct responses to him, or post them to the news group if they are of general interest. We are currently developing a large embedded system application which incorporates a rather extensive human interface (HI). There are numerous menus and spreadsheet like input screens which the user controls with a membrane keypad. The screens are all text and block graphics in nature (VT terminal type). We are trying to locate a commercially available software product which can aid in rapidly creating the code for this embedded system HI. This can be a complete environment or just libraries of useful routines. The products we have found so far are tied heavily to one of the traditional operating systems (DOS, VMS, Unix) and do not appear easily modfiable to our 68020 VRTX environment. We are most impressed with Vermont Views but it falls into the former category. Running an X server is not feasible. Mike Troutman Dowell-Schlumberger
