This would be especially nice for those people like myself who like to put the keyboard on their laps and sit back away from the screen and the mouse. However I don't think that below the heel of either hand would be a good location for the track-ball since I feel that it would interfere with typing (especially when the keyboard is on my lap). Maybe a better idea would be a modular unit which you can screw onto either side of the keyboard (for lefties like me) or also below the heel of one hand if one likes that. This way, buttons could be added just above the track-ball if people still felt that special "mouse" keys are needed. Dave Chin chin@berkeley ucb-vax!chin
