Since the three-monthly discussion about splitting unix-wizards is starting again, let me throw in my 10 cents of nonsense. I think the problem with unix-wizards is that many people use it as a second group in their posting. This has been the case with the "NULL vs 0" discussion (and is also true for *lots* of other articles from net.lang.c), and with articles concerning bugs. It believe that if you post something to net.bugs.4bsd, you shouldn't post it to net.unix-wizards. Those wizards that are interested in 4.* will read net.bugs.4bsd too, so they will see the article, and those that are v7 or S5 wizards probably won't have anything sensible to say on the subject. If we can find a way to stop these postings to multiple groups, the volume will be *much* lower, and probably more interesting to more people. Wasn't unix-wizards the place where the gurus pondered over their high affairs (or something like that)? Let's try and make it that again.
