I have been working on getting the source code for a couple of utilities off of Compu$erve that are in AR format, without much success, and need some help. I have found a couple of utilities on Compuserve that would be of general interest, and would like someone to un-AR them, then post the sources here in 'shar' format. The utilties are: ALARMD.AR CRON.AR X10.AR We do not have an OS/9 system with disk drives, but are developing ROM based software for OS/9. I have the .AR files here, and can mail them to anyone that can de-AR them. Thanks, -- Alan Percy..........................{rutgers,ames,cmcl2}!rochester!moscom!adp

Alarmd - No problem. Be aware that as written, it is 6809/LII specific because of the way I access the parent's process descriptor. It shouldn't be traumatic to port to LI or 68K, if need be. Cron - The original source for 'cron' (this one's in ASM) was blown off the earth when I had a triple hard disk failure in late 1987. I have subsequently disassembled the binary, and made some changes. Current state is that the source is in quasi ASM/DISASM format. Simmy Turner and a few others have been nudging me to port the Minix CRON, but I have yet to get around to it. X10 - This is a BIGGY. I picked this off the net in 1986 and ported it to os9. It's approximately 100k of source code. Are we sure that posting is what everyone wants? I will if there's enough demand (note for the uninitiated: X10 runs an X10 powerhouse controller [serial style as sold for IBM's at DAK, Egghead, etc. - not the R/S coco unit] to control BSR X10 devices around the house). I'll wait for a few days to see what general sentiment regarding posting is. If no responses appear, just drop me a memory jogger, and I'll mail the stuff to you.
