After I had some problems earlier, I modified you should avoid running a y-cable,esp. with a hard disk setup.the computer has very little tolerance for the un-buffered addition to the bus.the most common solution to this is to use a MPI. >The only possible hardware problem that might remain (I hope) is that >I am (due to some incorrect information I got when I first got the >drive) using an RLL controller with an MFM drive. For obvious these two problems together are more than enough to cause strange happenings with a hard disk.i recently set up a hard disk consisting of coco xt,wd1002s-wx2a,upgraded MPI, coco III ,and a tandon tm602s 5meg drive.i had to modify the coco xt slightly(the wx2 is compatible with the wx1, just physically larger),otherwise i have had no problems getting the system to run.if anyone wants to use a wx2, there is only one thing to be careful of.the b&b manual says that the drive 0 connector is the lowest numbered 20 pin connector(0=J2,1=J3).this is exactly the opposite on the wx2(0=J3,1=J2). vern
