In this case, you'll need an archiving program called 'pak'.  While it's
not as widely used as 'ar', it allows compression of executables and supports
several encoding processes, as well as being more informative about what it's
doing and what has been done than ar is.

Perhaps you could post the 'pak' program to the net for those of us 
who need it? Can it be found on CIS or Delphi?

   Yes, I'm pretty sure PAK is on *both* Delphi and C$S.
   About posting PAK: how do I go about this?  Do I just post it like a regular
message?
