I just been using OSTERM for the weekend so my results may not match yours or even the programmers. Your milage may vary. Anyway, OSTERM is a well designed package. The user interface is well done, consistent, and easy to use. Everything can be configured from withint the program. Even my pet peeve, being able to set your own colours is well done. The dialing directory is well done and can have multiple entryies for "ring@ diailing. That is, you can have it autodial one number and if it gets no response, it moves onto the next number. As to how easy the program is, well, as I often do, I ran the program first and then went back to the manual. But until I ran into the maybe bugs mentiones below, I found I didn't need to. Problems: 1) You can change the colors used in the terminal mode, but not the colors used for menus. 2) vt100 emulaton seems to need a little work. When using vi, it seems to have problems with the delete line commands. Also, open line seems to be buggy. Ansi emulation does line inserts and deletes, but doesn't do character insert or delete. OS9 terminal, with Unix using an OS9 termcap (Terminfo) works just fine. 3. File xfers: The xmodem will xfer a few blocks and then just sit there. I can hit the return key and it will xfer a few more blocks and then stops agian. Overall review: A very well designed program with an excellent idea on user interface. Fix the bugs and add kermit protocol and it could be the best, the standard for others to try and match. -- "Life's Just a Mood Ring We're Not Allowed to See" Mark E.
