[comp.os.os9] F$Alarm

ocker@lan.informatik.tu-muenchen.dbp.de (Wolfgang Ocker) (12/03/88)

Hi (... and low ...)!

TOP was cut off the net for at least two weeks, 'cause
the newsfeed of this system has become reconfigurated (or so ...)
We hope we haven't missed something important.

In OSK V2.2 the F$Alarm system call is implemented, but it doesn't
work properly. When setting an alarm, the returned alarm ID is
always zero (this is *NOT* a bug report. Microware didn't document
this system call, so it need not to work :-) Nevertheless,
with this system call it's very easy to write a UNIX (tm)
compatible alarm() function (UNIX allows only ONE alarm to be
set ...) Now a fairly simple question: Is the standard for
the alarm signal number already out? This is important, because
I have to rewrite my SCF drivers to recognize such a signal (as
they do on interupt, cancel and hangup.)

Thanks ...
