I think you missed my point. I know that I need a modular version, I also know that there are some rather good ones on the market. The point was that companies do not want to buy canned software for various reasons having to do with ego. I myself am not about to reinvent the wheel, or a payroll program...there are plenty of more interesting things I can do with my time, and still earn enough money to eat. If a programmer for a small company can not persuade the powers that be to buy canned software for such purposes, who can? Also if all of there software is individually written for them, who is going to support it after the programmer leaves? This stuff gets changed every year. liz// -------
