[comp.os.os9] Looking for MIDI-Driver for OS-9/68k running on Atari-ST

zeller@ethz.UUCP (Lukas Zeller) (04/26/89)

A friend of mine is running OS9/68k (Dr.Keil's implementation based on TLM
Systems original port) on a Atari-ST Mega2. Now he's looking for a driver that
can operate the midi port like a common RS-232 serial port.
I'm aware that such a driver exists for the Cumana-OS9 implementation
but it is said not to work with Keil-OS9.
We are not afraid of writing such a driver ourselves under normal circum-
stances, that is, if the OS9 was implemented regularily. But the Keil
implementation seems to be a big hack as it has to co-exist with several
oddities (from the OS9 programmer's point of view) of TOS because it uses
TOS routines for screen I/O etc. In particular, the interrupt handling
seems to differ from the standard OS9 way to do it. All attempts to install
an interrupt service routine via F$IRQ have failed totally.

Any help or pointers to a MIDI-Driver working with Keil-OS9 (V2.2) or - even
better - sources for such a driver would be greatly appreciated.
