From: Mike.Caplinger <mike.rice@Rand-Relay> We're interested in forming a new newsgroup devoted to software and hardware issues surrounding the Sun workstation. We at Rice currently have about 10 SMI Suns with 4.2 on an Ethernet with Unix VAXen, so I think have the technical experience to moderate this group. If anybody's interested, send mail to mike@rice (CSNet) mike.rice@rand-relay (ARPA) ...lbl-csam!rice!mike (USENET)

I'm not sure that I would contribute much to this newsgroup, but I am interested with being part of this group. The project I am currently working on is centered around the SUN, now running 4.1c but soon 4.2. Jonathan Payne

From: Mike.Caplinger <mike.rice@Rand-Relay> ===================== I'm going to try this message again. Maybe the first line will get sent this time... We are currently only a Phonenet/CSNet site, so we won't be able to handle any massive amount of traffic. In less than 2 months we will be on Telenet/CSNet, so we will be able to handle additional load.

I think net.works provides an adequate forum for discussions about Sun systems. -- Mark ...{decvax,ucbvax,ihnp4}!decwrl! ...{ittvax,amd70}!qubix!msc decwrl!qubix!msc@Berkeley.ARPA

I myself would rather see the discussion contained in that file, or in net.works. The low traffic in net.works and net.micro.68k would seem to indicate to me that the need for a separate notesfile for the Sun workstations is not really needed and would only lead to a greater number of notesfiles with no improvement in communication. dirk grunwald university of illinois {ihnp4,pur-ee} ! uiucdcs ! grunwald grunwald.uiuc@Rand-Relay (CSnet)
