I got a copy of SLED V2.2 (OS-9 screen editor) off the bitnet not that long ago and have noticed a bug which will corrupt the file your editing. Either that or I am doing something wrong when editing large text files. The source file was a cuts file about 42F0D bytes in size in which I used the CTRL-U command to update the destination. I was attempting to remove the mail header and trailer garbage. What I found was happening was the buffer loads in as much as it can then when you look closely at the first line on the screen you find out it is the last line of the buffer just loaded in. When you CTRL-U the buffer after you cut out some stuff it writes it out that way too. So when you run cuts on the file it of course complains the records are out of sequence (ie. 0250,0001,0002....0249,0251,0252,etc .....). It appears the last line of each buffer loaded in get moved as the first line but all other lines are OK. Has anyone else using SLED V2.2 noticed the same problem or am I doing something wrong here? {}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{} {} John Akermanis {} akermanis%troa01.enet.dec.com {} {} Digital Equipment {} DTN 631-7448 {} {} Toronto, Canada {} EXT (416)730-7448 {} {}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}
