We have a MATRIX VME OS/9 system, version 2.3 A few hours ago, a fellow student typed the following command: DEL .* in his subdirectory while he was the super user. Somehow, the whole filestructure in the hard disk was wiped out! This seems to be a serious bug in OS/9, it recursively deleted all directories by using the .. pointer to the parent of the directories. Is there anyone out there who knows about tools that we can get or download to read the deleted directories? Or at least read sectors? Right now, all of our old work is on there and some of it was not backed up. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Caglan M. Aras aras@eceris.ncsu.edu| Experts know more and N.
