[comp.os.os9] VT-100 / 220 /320 screen menu programs

kobetitsch@pacs.picker.com (harry kobetitsch) (03/22/91)

Are there programs out there that do simple screen handling and
menu handling for VT100/220/320. I am trying to generate a simple
user interface under os9 using the VTxxx. Also, I would appreciate
any reference to good sources (books, articles, etc) on this subject.

Harry,

Out in the bitnet there is a source for a VT100 emulator which works fairly
well under OS-9. The only minor glitch with it that I have not had time to
chases it the host/terminal dialog bug. About 70% of the time when the host
ask for terminal ID the VT100 emulator does not answer back as it should.

I could mail you the source I have either in CUTS, or S-REC format and use
the AR utility to un-arc the file after cuts/decode is done.

I did post the source in one of the past notes but it has gone into the bit
bucket already unfortunately. Let me know if I can help further.

KBCom (comercial version) does very good VT100 emulation on the CoCo. It is
sold by Second City Software for about 40$ (I think that is the price) Second
City advertises in the Rainbow maganine if you need there ph # or address.

There is also a PD termprogram called "vt100" that does adaquite vt100
emulation (doesn't support the "graphic" stuff though). It has a few bugs in
it and locks up ocasionally. It is a "bare bones" termprogram with no
transfer protocals in it. But, it may suite your needs also.
