Hi, Does anyone know of an OS-9 implementation of the ultrix/unix command 'lpr' ? If so, does it support remote printers and remote daemons ? Thanks in advance, Paul langley.

If so, does it support remote printers and remote daemons ? I have written a printerd/printerdc combination which listens on the printer socket and understands the lpd protocol coming from a Sun. This was so the Sun could send to the laser printer on our OS-9 system. It is not a complete implementation, and there are some laser-jet specifics in it. It understands the -i (indent) option, and uses -l to mean "little", to give the small line-printer font. It does not depend on our Print Spooler, but can happily co-exist with it. Paul Langley: I believe there was a version of an LPR type command that was published in Rainbow magzine, the Color Computer monthly. I seem to recall seeing a source listing for an LPR type command, in 6809 assembly source. You should be able to port that over to OSK using a cross assembler, or just try to write a similar one in C. I'll try to locate which issue it was in, and I may send you a photocopy via Snail Mail. :) -- Brian D.
