[net.works] Windows, Sun reliability

Ron's problem with windows popping up at every mouse click is a
function of a particular user interface and not of the window icon
interface paradigm itself. Lisa certainly doesn't produce lots of
windows because it takes so long to open new ones.

Sun reliability:

We have 10 Sun's here at Rice and have had good luck in terms
electrical reliability. Their mechanical reliability is another
question. Boards and connectors often have to be re-seated if the
machines are moved about.

Sun vs Apollo

Apollo's look a lot slicker when seen at conventions, but Sun seems to
to be at least as powerful a machine. Certainly, if unix/C
compatibility is important the Sun should be a hands down winner. On
the other hand, if I wanted hardware floating point and a very nice
color graphics capability, Apollo might be more attractive. But when it
comes right down to it, is cost ever no object?
