Intel Corporation has several VLSI design positions to be filled in its 80960 design team. The 80960 is a family of 32 bit microprocessors used in high end embedded control applications. These components are full custom CMOS VLSI designs incorporating advanced architectural techniques such as RISC and superscalar (issuing and executing more than 1 instruction per clock). The chips range in complexity up to 1.5 million transistors per device. The October 1 issue of EE Times magazine has a cover story on recent product announcements relating to the 80960 family. Positions available range from entry level VLSI design positions (BSEE/MSEE), to senior level VLSI designer (3-5+ years of full custom CMOS background), to architecture (MSEE/Ph.D. in EE or CS, or equivalent industry experience). For the VLSI design positions, experience in 32 bit microprocessor design is a plus.
