Why not....I Agree 100 percent (since unc-c does not get net.records.) Now,
if we got them to absorb net.audio as well (and net.audio.soft ?)

I would like to suggest that, in all cases where the fate of a newsgroup is
being discussed, the discussion also be posted to the newsgroup in question.
I'm sure that there are many people who read net.records who do not read
net.news.group.

Add another YES vote for merging net.music and net.records. I like
both, but I get tired of having to read.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!

To suggest that net.audio should be merged with net.music
is ridiculous - the things discussed in the two groups are
totally divergent.

>Hey!!!

>Whatever happened to net.records???

Net.records went away a couple of months ago. Some unnamed person (known
only by his plaid cape) pointed out that almost every message in
net.records was also cross linked into net.music. After discussion it was
decided that there was no real practical difference between the two, and
net.records was nuked so that there was a single topic for use in
discussion. It should be noted that some sites seem to have forgotten to
remove net.records from their active file so some sites seem to be posting
to it still on occasion. Of course, most people never see these postings
(*hint*).

Many of us read this network. When you consider how long it took you to
notice, think about how useful net.records truly was. It was a good idea,
but in reality there was nothing about it that made it different from
net.music or net.audio (for the technical material).

>It appears that to gain one network (net.music.classical), we have
>lost another.

Not true, since net.records went away long before net.music.classical was
even considered.
