Correct.  Taxonomy occurs in the "hard" sciences too.  Let's not forget
the periodic table from chemistry, the eight-fold way from physics, the
Hertzsprung-Russell diagram from astronomy, etc.  Classification problems
in mathematics might even be considered as an abstract form of taxonomy.
