!!INPUT OUTPUT CODE
!!analog in <1 copy may be made!	<-- this is the kicker!
!!digital <1 copy ok>	<no more copies>
!!digital <no more>	forget it - no recording done.
!!digital <unprotected>	<unprotected>
!
!Question: how do you generate something with the "digital unprotected"
!code? Or is the unused code perhaps for "analog unprotected"?

it shouldn't take too much digital hardware to sit on the
digital output and "censor" the copy codes.

!This whole scheme might be tolerable, IF the new DAT recording decks
!were designed to mark anything recorded off the microphone inputs as
!unprotected! That way, original concert masters could be duplicated as
!many times as you like, without upsetting the companies concerned about
!protecting their copyrighted prerecorded material in any media.

i'm sure this would upset an entirely new set of twits
outside of the weasels in the record/disc industry.

!Am I way off the mark? Is there something I don't understand about DAT
!decks (not having seen one yet)?

what about it audio/electronics cats? could someone please
post a CAD file containing the circuit to bust the silly copy code?
	(just kidding, really.)
