dp_high_tech offers dp_isam which can be used on UNIX(r) and MS-
DOS, for file systems with random or indexed organization.
Because dp_isam is written in the C language, it is fully port-
able and fast and its compiled modules can be linked with pro-
grams written in other languages like COBOL, PASCAL, etc.
The indexed organization for dp_isam relies on the B_tree file
organization.
It guarantees a quasi-linear access time to each record and as-
sures a dynamic management of the storage spaces, since all
indexes are placed in the same file and the free space will be
redistributed after LIFO.
The file space never needs to be reorganized.
dp_isam, being avery powerful and flexible access for business
software, can be used in real-time and multi-user environments.
Among other characteristics of this versatile tool, dp_isam is
characterized by an unlimited number of keys for each record and
a practically unlimited number of duplicate keys for each key
value.
The first two characters may also contain the number of the key.
Our phonetical search allows the ability to find the record after
the elements of the key in any order.
At any time during the file's lifecycle, it is possible to con-
sult the index and to move in the tree structure.
The dp_isam runs now on the following hardware:
