Mas Network Software is pleased to announce the release of MaS-INet version 1.0.

This is an implementation of the TCP/IP protocols for the IBM PC/XT/AT/PS2 
machines running PC-DOS or MS-DOS or Double-Dos.

It supports the following hardware devices:
    3COM 3C500 or 3C501 etherlink card, Proteon p1300 token ring card,
    *WatStar/pc Network with p1300 card, standard PC serial card
Soon to support:
    Interlan NI5010 ethernet controller, Tangent MacBridge AppleTalk card,
    Proteon P1340 token ring card, 3COM 3C505 etherlink plus card,
    IBM Token Ring Card

It supports the following protocol layers:
    ARP, IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP
Soon to support:
    RARP

It supports the following client applications:
    Telnet, FTP, SMTP, Rlogin, Rsh, BSD 4.2&4.3 Talk, Msg, Rwho, LPR
Soon to support:
    Iprint, TFTP, Finger, Whois, NicName, Rcp, BootpClient,
    Routed (for gateways)

It supports the following server applications:
    Telnet (just for chatting back and forth), FTP, SMTP, BSD 4.2&4.3 Talk,
    Msg, Echo, Discard, Character Generator, Quote of the day,
    Time of the day, Rwho, Name (IEN116)
Soon to support:
    Name (Domain), BootpServer, Routed (for gateways)

It also supports the following specialized facilities:
    - more than one device can be present to allow gatewaying of networks.
    - DMA or the special V20/80186/80286(AT) instructions can be used for
      packet transfer, resulting in much better performance.
    - many FTP servers may be operational, for use as a remote storage
      location for software (public domain etc). (up to 200, depending on
      machine speed and performance needed)
    - up to 20 client sessions may be active at one time.
    - under development - Kermit/Xmodem/Ymodem over the telnet connection
    - custom devices, protocols, and application can be written to
      specifications.
    - licenses available for binaries or binaries with OBJ libraries.
    - MasWatch is also available - a network packet watcher
