[net.works] UNIX workstations request for info

A friend of mine wants to buy a graphics work station.  He wants to:
	o do image processing on 256x256x6 images (ultrasound)
	o acquire said images over a serial line
	o 68000 or faster processor
	o good networking, particularly locally
	o will take system to Norway in a year or so
	o good software development environment
	o upgrade to a vector processor possible (for image processing)

I recomended one of the UNIX boxes, SUN or MASSCOMP or ?????  Then I
realized that there are a lot of UNIX work stations with good
graphics out there that I don't know about.  Sooooooo.
Please send me your recomendations (in the mail, NOT THE NEWS, no
need to tell everyone on the net).  One thing to remember, for
image processing you want direct access to the graphics frame
buffer for speed.
