APOLLO ANNOUNCES ENHANCED VERSION OF ITS IBM 5080 EMULATOR
November 10, 1987 -- Apollo Computer Inc. today announced significant
performance and functionality enhancements to its Domain (R) 5080
Emulator, the first fully integrated IBM 5080 graphics terminal
emulation. The Domain 5080 Emulator allows users to simultaneously
run both mainframe and workstation applications from the same
workstation display.
The enhancements include faster 5080 emulation and added functionality
in the area of high speed IBM connectivity. In addition, Apollo
intends to deliver high speed file transfer in the first half of 1988.
High speed file transfer will allow users to transfer files between
the IBM host computer and Apollo workstations at speeds in excess of
50 KBytes per second.
