NEW HIGH PERFORMANCE SMD-E DISK CONTROLLER FOR SUN WORKSTATIONS
Ciprico Inc. will be displaying and demonstrating their new
Rimfire 3220 Sun-sized SMD-E disk controller at the upcoming
Sun User Group Conference in San Jose, California. The controller
is compatible with Sun's Series-3 Workstations. The conference
will be held at the new Fairmont Hotel, December 7th through 9th.
The demonstration will be a real-time comparison of Ciprico's
Rimfire 3220 controller and Sun's standard SMD controller.
Both controllers will concurrently run various benchmarks on
identical disk drives. The benchmark results will be graphically
displayed. If you're looking for higher disk performance, don't
miss this demonstration.
The Rimfire 3220 controller is identical to Ciprico's Rimfire 3200
VMEbus SMD-E disk controller except that it supports four drives
and has a Sun form factor (367 mm X 400 mm). The board has a
512-Kbyte cache memory and can burst data over the VMEbus in excess
of 30 Mbytes/second.
