VERDIX IS FIRST TO BEGIN SHIPMENT OF AN
   ADA DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM FOR THE
   INTEL 80386

CHANTILLY, VIRGINIA, November 25, 1987 -- VERDIX CORPORATION (NASDAQ Symbol:
VRDX) announced today the initiation of first customer shipments of the
VADS/386 Ada compiler for the Intel iAPX 80386 Microprocessor.

The Verdix Ada Development System (VADS\(rg) integrated tool set supplies the
first fully validated compiler to support the iAPX 80386 in full 32-bit 386
protected mode. The Intel iAPX 80386 represents a new generation of chip
technology and is being designed into new systems where increased performance
and flexibility are required. Verdix expects its position of leadership with
this product to yield significant future business opportunities.

VADS/386 is hosted on Digital Equipment Company's VAX/VMS family of computers.
VADS/386 supports the development of Ada software for embedded systems that
contain an Intel iAPX 80386 microprocessor. The VADS/386 includes a validated
compiler, a screen-oriented symbolic cross-debugger, a cross-linker, and more
than 15 other tools that aid software engineering. As part of the DOD's Ada
Joint Program Office on-site validation process, over 600 Ada programs were
compiled on VAX/VMS using VADS/386 and then downloaded and run on an Intel
iSBC 386/20p board.

The Verdix Ada compiler supports all the features that make Ada an excellent
language for embedded systems, including machine code insertions,
representation specifications, interrupt entries, address clauses, and pragma
interface to other languages. VADS contains a Real-Time Executive and a
Target Debug Monitor that run on the iAPX 80386.

VERDIX CORPORATION, headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia with major Ada
software development facilities in Aloha, Oregon, is a computer systems and
software development company specializing in products to meet government and
industry needs for Ada development and computer security systems.
