[comp.newprod] Workstation Graphics

norris@belltec.UUCP (David Norris) (12/11/87)

Bell Technologies presents for AT compatible 80386 computers running
UNIX System V -- Workstation Graphics.

The Workstation Graphics Engine PC AT bus card provides 1660 x 1200 resolution
in monchrome and 640 x 480 x 8 bits in color. An 82786 graphics processor on
board supports windows, BIT-BLT, and other graphics operations in hardware.
The Engine ships today with UNIX System V Release 3 and X Windows. From $995.

Advanced Hardware Design for Advanced Performance:
The Graphics Engine couples an Intel 82786 graphics processor with 1
Megabyte of dual-ported, two way interleaved, static column fast access RAM
for zero wait state performance. Hardware support for windows, line drawing,
BIT-BLT and many other operations lets the Engine run hundreds of times
faster than frame buffer style display cards.

Insist on State off The Art Resolution:
	1660 x 1200 resolution provides a crisp, clear display that's twice
the resolution of typical UNIX workstation displays. At 640 x 480 x 8 bits
color, the Engine provides very high speed, medium resolution color capability
on the same card. Use Princeton or Moniterm monitors in mono and Multi Sync
in color.

Maximum Value through Maximum Software Support:
The Engine features hardware support for UNIX and Xenix, including a
flexible memory mapping access scheme. Dual ported RAM on-board can be
toggled instantly between UNIX flat map or DOS paged modes under software
control. Full UNIX System V and X Windows support ships with every card.
SUN NeWS and a host of third party application ports are now underway by Intel
Corporation and others. DOS Windows and GEM drivers are also in development.
