IDACOM ANNOUNCES NEW GENERATION IN PROTOCOL TESTING

MAY 17, 1988.

IDACOM has devised the solution to protocol testing problems faced by
network managers, operators and service engineers: the PT300.

Introduced in March of this year, the PT300 is lighter, faster and more
powerful than its predecessors. It is the first protocol tester which
supports simultaneous testing of both WAN (RS-232, V.35, X.21) and ISDN
(2B+D) interfaces.

The powerful multi-processor architecture allows the user to develop and
execute different test scripts for each channel under test. These test
scripts can communicate with each other, providing a method of synchronizing
the execution of the programs. This allows the user to solve his problems
in the fastest and easiest way.

The PT300 includes application software packages for X.25 and SNA acceptance
testing, statistical analysis, performance measurements and error diagnosis.
It provides real-time reports on data-type error detection, line throughput,
line utilization and response time in order to identify network congestion
or other trouble areas.

The unique capabilities of the PT300 make it a machine ahead of its time.
Complete with a new user-friendly interface, it sets a new performance
standard for WAN + ISDN protocol testing.
