TELEBIT ANNOUNCES NEW LOW PRICE MULTI-SPEED MODEM, THE T1000
The new T1000 multi-speed modem from Telebit, the leading manufacturer
of high-speed dial-up communications products, offers users the
flexibility of 9600, 2400, 1200, and 300 bps performance over dial-up
lines for the price of most 2400 bps error-correcting modems. Based on
the same patented PEP protocol as Telebit's TrailBlazer Plus and T2000
19.2K bps dial-up modems, the Telebit T1000 modem is capable of
transmitting data up to 9600 bps without the use of data compression.
The T1000 modem is compatible with the existing base of 300, 1200, and
2400 bps modems, in addition to high-speed Telebit and other PEP modems.
It has built-in protocol support for Unix UUCP, Kermit, Xmodem and
Ymodem protocols for optimum performance in a broad range of computing
environments. With the remote management feature of the T1000, modems
can be configured or tested from a central site.
The Telebit T1000 modem is available as an external standalone unit that
operates in PC, mini, mainframe, Macintosh, LAN, and Unix environments.
With the optional vertical stand, the T1000 can be conveniently placed
on the desk next to the computer, minimizing use of desk space.
