Saratoga Information Systems today released CrossPoint its UNIX visual file manager. CrossPoint is a full screen interface to the UNIX file system and has a unique dual mode user interface. There is a hot-key mode for regular, or power users, and a scrolling menu mode for novice, or casual users. CrossPoint brings to UNIX users the ability to manipulate files and directories using a full screen cursor oriented approach. CrossPoint works on ascii terminals as well as bit mapped graphics displays. Crosspoint presents your files as a standard UNIX hierarchy of files, as a flattened hierarchy, or in a visual tree mode (graphical). CrossPoint makes the following tedious jobs simple: Copying, moving, or removing files or groups of files Cloning directories Getting complete information about a file Finding files of the same name in different hierarchies Executing user defined command strings on files or groups of files Showing only those files that match a given specification CrossPoint also offers three special features. First, with a single keystroke, you can invoke your preferred text editor on the currently selected file. Second, with another keystroke, you can invoke your preferred shell. Third, CrossPoint has an expression searching function that allows you to locate files that contain the expression you specify. CrossPoint is a powerful tool for file manipulation intensive jobs, and is available now for SUN 3/50, Xenix 286/386, UNISYS, ARIX, and OPUS systems. Other ports, and an X Windows version are on the way. PO BOX 2817 Contact: Saratoga, CA 95070 Paul Richards, (408) 741-1106 .. sun!kass!richard
