MKS is proud to announce the commercial availability on March 1, 1989 of the OS/2 versions of the following members of the MKS Programming Platform. Available March 1, 1989 MKS Vi (tm) (full-screen UNIX editor) MKS AWK (tm) (prototyping language) MKS RCS (tm) (Revision Control System) Available 2nd Quarter 1989 MKS Toolkit (UNIX utilities for OS/2) MKS LEX & YACC (compiler construction tools for OS/2) MKS Make (automatic program builder for OS/2) MKS is bringing its powerful UNIX System V.3 compatible pro- gramming tools to the OS/2 environment. Compatibility has been maintained between the DOS and OS/2 versions of these MKS products. Now software developers using the MKS Programming Platform have sophisticated development tools transparently available on both DOS and OS/2 environments. This is especially important to the increasing number of mixed DOS, OS/2 and UNIX development groups. Only the MKS Programming Platform provides users with a smooth transition between all these disparate environments. Other packages require users to engage in the expensive and high maintenance task of converting between different tools sets. Now UNIX developers will have their favorite full-screen Vi editor at their fingertips on OS/2. This editor, particu- larly well-suited for programming tasks, will speed the writing of new OS/2 programs or the porting of existing software. Similarly, the MKS AWK language is an excellent prototyping tool for software developers. Common text manipulation and data conversion tasks are easily accomplished with MKS AWK's powerful pattern matching abilities. Both the large and small model versions of AWK are available. Lastly, MKS RCS will aid the tracking and management of OS/2 development projects - no matter how large or complex. MKS RCS contains all the features needed by an individual user or the largest corporate network in one low-cost version. Because MKS RCS stores files on disk in the same easily inspected ASCII form, these files are readily transferred between DOS, UNIX, OS/2 and Xenix systems. The OS/2 versions of these MKS software packages will list for: MKS AWK $179.00 MKS RCS $395.00 MKS Vi $199.00 For further information on MKS and its products please contact: Mortice Kern Systems, Inc., 35 King Street North Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, N2J 2W9 Telephone:(519) 884-2251 Telefax:(519) 884-8861 Uucp:..!uunet!watmath!mks!inquiry MKS is a trademark of Mortice Kern Systems.
